Air West - Press ReleasesSeptember 1, 2003 – Air West announced today the
reorganization of some of its lead personnel. Effective immediately,
Goran Kulojevic has taken over as Director of Maintenance and Robert
Chevaleau will take on the roles and duties as Chief Pilot. This change
in management will increase the efficiency and safety of the Mesa based
air charter company, allowing them to use their resources and personnel
to their fullest extent. Before coming to Air West in 2002, Mr. Kulojevic worked as
a Line Maintenance Mechanic for Yugoslav Airlines as an inspector for
Boeing 707, 737, and Douglas DC-9 aircraft. He moved to the United
States in 1991 where he played soccer for the Arizona Sandsharks in the
US. After retirement from professional sports, Mr. Kulojevic worked as
an inspector and shop foreman at Falcon Executive Aviation. Currently,
Mr. Kulojevic is also a line pilot for Air West’s aircraft charter
department flying the Cessna 300 and 400 series aircraft as well as the
Turbo Commander 690A. Mr. Chevaleau has worked as a pilot at Air West since
August of 2000. Prior to that he was employed by the University of
Illinois as a Flight Instructor and Check Pilot for the University's
Institute of Aviation, outside of Champaign, Illinois. In addition to
his roles as Chief Pilot, Mr. Chevaleau is the Check Airman for Air West
in the turbine powered Turbo Commander. He is also the chief pilot and
aircraft manager for Honcho Company, flying a Conquest II on domestic
and international flights. Background on Air West Air West, Inc is an executive air charter company based in
Arizona providing service throughout the Southwest. Established in 1994,
Air West has grown to be one of the five largest aircraft charter
providers in the Phoenix area. Their
fleet contains both piston and turbine powered aircraft, allowing their
customers to have the flexibility to choose the equipment that will
fulfill their mission, their schedule, and their budget. In addition to private air transportation and airfreight
operations, Air West is an approved aircraft contractor for the United
States Forest Service (USFS) and the Office of Aircraft Services (OAS),
providing “Air Attack” operations (fire surveillance, detection, and
management) during the forest fire season. Air West has been working
with the USFS and OAS since 1995. In 2002 they were part of the team
that contained the Rodeo-Chediski Fire in Northeast Arizona and the
McNalley Fire in the Sequoia National Park. In 2003 Air West provided
aircraft services to help contain the Aspen Fire outside Summerhaven,
Arizona, along with several fires throughout Montana, Wyoming, and
Idaho.
